Helping Small Business Is Good For America!
Healthy small businesses mean a healthy economy. Small businesses:
1. Represent 99.7 percent of all employers.
2. Employ half of all private sector employees.
3. Pay 44.3 percent of total U.S. private payroll.
4. Generate 60 to 80 percent of net new jobs annually over the last decade.
5. Create more than 50 percent of nonfarm private gross domestic product (GDP). |
 Therefore it's important to help establish and/or grow small businesses.
Volunteering for SCORE allows you to do just that. The Vancouver SCORE Chapter consists of experienced men and women of all ages who are dedicated to improving the business community of Southwest Washington.
We need data administrators, workshop coordinators and counselors. As a volunteer, you will interact with a diverse group of men and women who are either already in business and seek advice on ways to "grow to that next level" or who want to start a small business.
You can help people achieve lifetime dreams and become independent business owners. Your background and experience can interface with that of our other volunteers to provide a comprehensive and rewarding experience.
With a commitment of as little as a half-day per week, you'll be fully-trained in all aspects of SCORE volunteering. Counselor training includes being mentored one-on-one by an experienced counselor, by co-counseling with other SCORE volunteers and by self-study at your own pace.
Our Chapter serves Vancouver, WA as well as Clark County and Southwest Washington, including Cowlitz and Skamania Counties.
